Welcome to Apricus Cellars

“Sunny, having lots of sunshine, warmed by the sun”

Welcome to Apricus Cellars

Apricus Cellars was borne out of our love for the climate, land, soil, and sun of the South Okanagan and the fruit grown in those elements. Apricus (äˈpriːkʊs̠) is a medieval Latin word that means both ’basking in sunshine’ and ‘delectable’. No word better describes our wine and the environment in which we produce it.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Acknowledging the land is a traditional custom of indigenous peoples when welcoming outsiders. It is also one way in which settlers can affirm their commitment to truth and reconciliation. The owners and employees of Apricus Cellars would like to acknowledge that our winery is situated on the traditional, unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. We are grateful to have the opportunity to create, collaborate, and work on this land, with members of this community. In addition, as a partnership between indigenous and non-indigenous people, we recognize how fortunate we are that our presence together on this land provides us with the opportunity to set forth a path towards meaningful reconciliation.
